Things to Do in Florence This October: 3rd Fridays, Make a Difference Day, and Fright Fest

Downtown on Main Street
3rd Fridays on Main Street returns Friday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. Four blocks of Main Street in Historic Downtown Florence close to traffic, local businesses stay open late, and there are free activities for kids. October's edition includes a Halloween costume contest. Admission is free.
The month wraps up with Fright Fest on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown Florence, a family-friendly Halloween evening with activities, food, and entertainment.
A Day of Service
Florence Makes a Difference Day is Saturday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 11 a.m. Volunteers help with beautification projects across town, including painting, planting, and trash pickup. Come on your own, with family, or with an organization. United Way of Pinal County hosts a resource fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 778 N. Main St., and a free roll-off will take bagged trash and green waste (no bulk or hazardous items). Registration details are on the town's event page.
Evenings Outdoors
Two evening hikes start at the CAP Florence Trailhead, 17408 Salazar St.: the Creepy Crawlers Hike on Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and the Full Moon Hike: Hunter's Moon on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Earlier in the month, a Creepy Crawler program is set for Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Viney Jones Library & Community Center, 778 N. Main St.
Community Fundraiser
Ghouls & Giggles, the third annual Florence Lions comedy night fundraiser, is Sunday, Oct. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Windmill Winery.
Civic Calendar
The Florence Town Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 6, and Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 775 N. Main St. Meetings can also be watched on Zoom or YouTube.
